Adding A Map To Your Website
Adding a map to your website is a very valuable tool which will help potential clients find your business and adds credibility to your business.
A good tool to do this is the wordpress plugin named Google Maps v3 Shortcode.
Written by UCLA Urban Studies professor, this plugin is very practical, easy to use and versatile.
Visit the plugin website here.
I added this map to one of my clients websites (Acupuncture For Health in San Diego) so clients would be able to find her. For thorough directions, visit the website above, but basically you have to create a custom map in google maps, and copy and paste the kml code into a wordpress post, making sure you do it in the ‘html’ tab.
Here is the code I pasted into my clients website to give her customers an effective and versatile way of locating and getting to her business:
[map w=”500″ h=”400″ z=”5″ maptype=”SATELLITE” kml=”http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=206601812263293171123.000498959775bcf9f2995&output=kml”]
To install this plugin, simply search “google maps v3 shortcode” in your wordpress plugins search bar. Its free!
